Dr. R.K. Sharma, Professor Public Administration at Panjab University, Chandigarh has Graduated and Post Graduated and has also done his Doctor of Philosophy from Punjab University. He has behind himself 37 years of teaching experience of the Graduate and Post Graduate classes besides supervising Doctoral Research in the areas related to the discipline. His areas of research and supervision have been Healthcare Administration, Old Age Care Administration, Municipal and Hospital Waste Management, Education, Empowerment and Leadership in Urban and Rural Local Governments and he has contributed many Research Papers on key issues of Administration which have been published in various journals of National and International repute. He has been member of the Panjab University Senate which is a governing body of the University from 2004 to 2008 and re- elected for the period of 2008 – 2012 also has been member of the Syndicate – the Executive Body of the University. He has been Dean Arts Faculty, Panjab University and Chief Coordinator, Centre for Emerging Areas in Social Sciences has also been the Editor-in Chief of the Research Journal Social Science of the University. Professor Sharma has been the founder Coordinator of the Masters Course in Police Administration. He is widely travelled man and has been abroad several times, visited countries like U.K. and other European countries and recently has been to Australia. He is Life Member of Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi. He is also the Executive Member of Regional Branch of the Indian Institute of Public Administration which is a prestigious academic body in the discipline of Public Administration.
